How common is it?

Statistics show that most people will suffer from depression in some form or other at some point in their lives.

What are the symptoms?

The symptoms vary enormously, but usually include:

a sense of being out of control, despair and hopelessness about ever getting better

like being on an emotional roller coaster, in free fall

disturbed sleep patterns

feeling like your whole body is tired, lethargic and falling apart

constant worrying, regretting and anticipation of more of the same in the future

How can it be overcome?

Surprisingly easily.

Depression is a situation where your usual skills and talents seem to make no difference, so telling yourself, or other people telling you, to "cheer up", "look on the bright side" or "get a grip" simply doesn't work that well.

This is a classic case of using the only tools available for a job which they are just not suitable for.

We have studied three groups of people over the years

those with depression

those without depression

those who used to do depression, and don't any more

This research has clearly identified what those people in those different groups do that is different, and which ensures that they get different results in their lives.

Simply by identifying what you do that causes you the feelings of depression, and clearly teaching you how to do what non depressed people do, you can learn to stop being depressed.

This may sound quite a tall order, but it isn't, we know because we helped so many people to achieve freedom from those destructive patterns.

"Dear Phil
The last session was incredible - everything has been going well since. The fact that one can be talked completely out of hideous 'depression' in one hour is pretty incontrovertible evidence that it is optional... Something really sunk in, and I feel like I'm learning more and more... So thanks, very much. "
